Nice and very reasonably priced restaurant just opposite High Street Phoenix. Good and simple seafood and other non veg dishes too. A bit crowded at times but quick service.
There is nothing better than Creative for a missed breakfast, or a nice lunch (though at times you might have to wait for 30-45 minutes for a table to be vacated). This nice small restaurant has the perfect Bombay feel - happy cheerful staff, the crowd is a mix, from your local train.
The place has great service and very friendly staff (my favourite was this Anna with dental braces who customised everything possible for us, and has also served us half idli coz we didn't have money for full).
Till few months back, they didn't charge service tax, so we would walk there from our office with coins clanking in our pockets and go back with a fill of nice rice idli (not rava as served everywhere else), or a fresh crisp dosa. Some of my uptight colleagues would also finish off their veg and fish thalis sitting cross legged on their steel benches. Their regulars are quite tasteful. For rotis, the option of your regular atta rotis is available, and they are quite good.
We have also tried their fried rice, egg rice, manchow soups, etc., etc. and we were quite surprised to find all the flavours quite in place (perhaps we had underestimated them with foreign flavours).
For those, bothered by heat, there is no AC (though for a longest time there was a board of AC room, which either never happened, or maybe which was left by the older place which had AC room). Also, the sabzis are cooked in generous oil. Some of the dishes also have same curry based, but that I have found in big restaurants as well...
Customisable dishes, affordable prices, friendly staff and amazing variety of local food.
The ambience of this common man's restaurant is a bit sterile but the location is perfect!
It is worth to drop by.
