Cravery Café, Financial District – Decent Food, Not Ideal for Business MeetingsA group of six of us chose Cravery Café for a working lunch on a Sunday noon to discuss business ideas. This was my first visit, and here’s my take. Reservations are recommended for weekend lunches—the place was full when we arrived.Location & Access: Cravery is easy to find, located on Myscape Road in the Financial District, inside a multi-storey commercial building on the first floor. Valet parking may be available, though I didn’t use it. I parked my motorcycle in the spacious B1 garage, which is free to use. Entry is nicer from the building front via the stairs, while the garage route is less appealing but more accessible-friendly.Ambience: The interiors are light and airy, with a double-height ceiling and large windows (though the view is just residential buildings opposite). Compared to many Insta-friendly cafés, Cravery doesn’t try too hard—it’s simple, roomy, and comfortable. Seating options include tall chairs and outdoor tables, which might be pleasant on mosquito-free evenings. Background music was playing, but as the restaurant filled up, chatter and clatter made it hard to converse. Acoustics aren’t great, so this isn’t the best spot for business meetings.Facilities & Service: Washrooms are common to the building and were good. Service felt minimal—the staff weren’t attentive to dietary or spice preferences (important since we had a senior citizen in the group). Ordering is QR-code based. They mostly came to serve food rather than engage.Food: The menu is fairly broad for a café, with a mix of cuisines. Food was a mixed bag: - Excellent: Mac n cheese (surprisingly generous portion), railway cutlet. - Good: Mozzarella sticks, corn cheese cutlet. - Poor: Pizza (₹550, stiff base, bland cheese—better value at Karachi Bakery), paneer starter (fancy name, disappointing taste). Portion sizes varied—big plates were well-proportioned, but many items felt overpriced (about 20% higher than justified). No discounts via Swiggy/Zomato, which added to the sense of poor value. Bottled water and service charge added to the bill, though tap water wasn’t offered. Pricing: We paid about ₹1000 per person. For the quality and portion sizes, it felt expensive. Cutting the water and service charge could lower the bill.Takeaway: Cravery Café is worth trying once for its ambience and a few standout dishes, but it’s not ideal for business meetings and feels overpriced for what it offers. Other cafés in the Financial District may provide better experiences for the same money.
