We had been to this place for lunch with a family of 6 members. To be honest this place is a bit overrated. Not sure if there was a change with management or anything since the previous reviews contradict my experience at Kandaswamy. I went here post reading the reviews but I guess a lot has changed right now. Pros; 1. The location of the place is good with ample parking space and without the noise of traffic and crowd. 2. They have a wide range spread on the menu which can be tried, specially non vegetarians can enjoy some variety of food. 3. We had ordered mutton chukka and seer Fish which was delicious and could feel the freshness in the fish without any smell and the mutton also was fresh. 4. They have swiggy dine out and Zomato gold which has 10% discount. Cons: 1. First biggest drawback is the service. Totally unprofessional with anyone and everyone ready to serve and lack of management ethics. Literally, our soup came after the main course and we had to remind the staff time and again that a particular dish had not come. Later the staff got the order placed receipt and asked us if we had to get something or pending. No cutlery provided or any basic table manners followed. 2. Lot of items are of average taste and quantity also is less for the price. 3. There were many tables complaining about the banana leaf not provided though orders came out and few tables had the banana leaf spread even before placing the order. 4. Items came in long gaps that we had to wait every 10 - 12 mins for a dish to come. 5. We had meals for which the rasam provided was spoilt. Literally smelt which spoilt our experience overall. Finally, if requested to revisit, I would surely give that a second thought. Lot of improvement to be done. And also the restaurant looks like it belongs to a more standard one rather than any road side shop. So please maintain that by providing the right service and food for the money. Visited the restaurant yesterday for Lunch. The passion to take this restaurant to another level of excellence was very much visible. The proprietors are more keen to provide excellent food at reasonable costs. The items are fresh, tasty and well presented. The staff are curteous, attentive and pleasant. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an authentic Chettinad cuisine.
