Many reviewers highlight that salads are perfectly cooked. The high ratings of this restaurant would be impossible without the appealing staff. Fine service is something clients like here. The enjoyable atmosphere will be exactly just what you need after a long working day. But Coral Reef Restaurant has been rated below average by Google.

I had dinner at this restaurant and my experience was not as good as expected. First for service: I went alone, the waiters showed no attention to me and service was too delayed. After I had dinner they didn't even come to bring my bill. I had to go by myself to the cash reception to ask for the bill. Second Food: I had mushroom fried rice, it was average in taste and flavour. The price is kind of expensive as compared to good restaurants in Nagercoil. I also had onion french soup which looked so cheap, made by frying onions and then pouring water. They finished it with a slice of cheese and a soft bread. This was the worst soup I have ever had in my life. Not to mention the price is always 2x the price of good restaurants I had dined. Lastly I had an icecream named split banana. It is fancy in the menu but wondering what I got is some slices of banana with three scoops of icecream (1 scoop each of vanilla, strawberry and yellow colour which I don't know what flavour to mention because they all taste the same). All flavours tasted the same it's just colour different but not the flavours. I feel it's just too expensive to eat ice-cream worth less than ₹100 at a price of ₹200. Third is the ambience: I find positive things only in the restaurant ambience which is comfortable to sit and eat with a good looking campus... The service was abysmal. It takes so long to get your drinks, forget about the wait time for food. We were a party of 6 and ordered 4 alcoholic and 2 sweet and sour lime soda. It took them 20 minutes to get the sodas! They didn't give us any water till an hour. Ordered masala papad, fish fingers, honey chilli potato, and some corn appetizer. Masala papad was super salty and soggy. The honey chilli potato was soggy as well. Ordered kanyakumari nadan fish and a peas dish for main course. The fish was just average. Overall, it was a very bad experience. I wouldn't recommend eating here. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
