I am a vegetarian by birth and ordered bbq paneer salad. When the order was received I thought the taste of paneer was different. I gave a bite to my non vegetarian friend and he told that it's chicken. I was shocked. Although maintaining decor me and my friend didn't create a scene and only informed them. Soon the waiter and the owner apologized too. The waiter then told us that he can't give another salad as lettuce was over. The waiter insisted to order something, I said I am fine. Then the owner came and insisted again and I couldn't refuse. So as the owner suggested, ordered brocolli soup thinking that the team wanted to compensate for their big blunder. While billing, the owner claimed the bill of both soup and tea which was ordered. I had a word with owner and said that I ordered soup firstly because she insisted and I thought they regret their blunder. She claimed that she can't pay for soup as almond and brocolli are costly.
My point is owners of restaurants should understand that *GIVING NON VEG FOOD BY MISTAKE TO A VEGETARIAN CUSTOMER IS THE BIGGEST BLUNDER*. I am amused by the way the owner handled it. Saying sorry sometimes isn't enough, especially when religious food sentiments are involved. The maximum regret the team had was 10% discount.
