My partner and I came for what was supposed to be a very chilled evening with a drink or two and a fulfilling. As we live abroad we had heard a lot about this place and thought to indulge in the hype that “Colaba Social”, but to our disappointment every thing was an experience killer from the get go. Starting from the table offerings. At a place with such a fantastic ambience and atmosphere did you really expect a couple to be squeezed between 2 tables of 4?! With not being satisfied with table offered we had politely requested for another table option but the gentleman who’s name I did not get simply snapped around and told us that all the tables were reserved (only four tables occupied when we arrived) when asked why we could not sit on certain we were told that it was only for that amount covers to occupied in the table like a table four can only be occupied by four people( first time ever to encounter such in any restaurant). After a lengthy argument with server who didn’t seem interested in finding a solution suddenly abruptly just told us to sit at table of four which conveniently became available. After seating at the table and going through a very ripped up menu we decided to place the order only to wait ages to grab the attention of any server, and after finally grabbing his attention he had great audacity of directly telling us to scan the QR code and place the order without asking us on what we actually needed help with (unprofessionalism at its finest)… needless to say that was the last straw and we had no option but to leave the place without even thinking twice. You found ways to turn away paying customers to go and encourage them to go to a competitor ( we ended up going next door to Smokies and had a rather fabulous time there where the service was nothing short of excellent). Management this is food for thought… train your staff to have solutions rather then just the abrasive “NO”.
