After visiting Ramakrishna Mission, you may have a meal at this restaurant. Taste something new from the Indian cuisine. A lot of guests say that waiters offer nicely cooked chicken, pizza and momos here. Clients visit Club India Cafe to drink good beer. Choose great tea, you won't regret it.
The positive aspect of this place is that the staff is pleasant. Spectacular service is something visitors appreciate here. When you enter this place, pay your attention to the comfortable atmosphere.
(Literally!)
Club India Cafe is perched atop a tall (by Paharganj standards) building and looks deceptively charming when you stand in the gully and look up. Mellow yellow lamps, some firangs, rock music wafting out.
But when you take the steep flight of stairs, it hits you. Smelly and dingy path upwards where one can see a brave attempt to make it look less run down by painting the walls in kitschy graphics.
Cheap beer is all that is good about this joint. The rooftop is actually the worst part. A stinky loo and dirty tables can ruin it for you. We observed that it would take very little effort to make it better but beyond the fairy lights, there is little they have done. Downstairs (which is popular only in extreme summer) is several shades better in ambiance and feel.
We ordered chilly chicken and tikka with our beer. Both were served on a bed of unwashed cabbage slaw. Both were done just about right. Thankfully the meat wasn't dry. It was seasoned decently.
Will I visit again?
