It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that soothes your soul.The candlelight dining setup takes the charm up a notch, making it ideal for a romantic evening or a quiet dinner with loved ones. The soft glow of candles and the serene surroundings create an aura that’s nothing short of magical.And the food? Absolutely mouth-watering! Every dish reflects the rich flavors of Rajasthan, perfectly curated to tantalize your taste buds. Whether it’s the traditional Rajasthani thali or the variety of options from their menu, each bite leaves you craving for more.However, there are a couple of areas that need improvement. First, their policy of charging children above 3.5 feet as adults, regardless of their actual age, feels unreasonable. I’ve only seen this at Chokhi Dhani, and it would be much more family-friendly if they revised this policy to charge based on actual age.Secondly, despite charging a hefty amount, their service could be improved significantly. Guests are expected to get up for basics like chapatis, which disrupts the dining experience. While a buffet setup is fine, they should consider having servers bring essentials to the table. This small change would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.Choupal Restaurant is not just a meal, it’s an experience you’ll cherish forever, but addressing these concerns could make it even better. I recently dined at Choupal Restaurant within the Chokhi Dhani Resort and had an extremely disappointing experience. We opted for the buffet, expecting a flavorful and traditional Rajasthani feast, but unfortunately, the food fell far short of expectations.The overall quality of the food was poor—completely tasteless, flavorless, and bland. The chicken starter was served at room temperature and had an unappetizing, solid texture. The laal maans dish was overly greasy, swimming in ghee, yet devoid of any real taste and difficult to swallow. I hoped the pasta from the live cooking station would be a redeeming option, but it turned out to be equally terrible.We also tried traditional Rajasthani dishes such as daal bati, gatte ki sabzi, and baajre ki roti. Out of these, only the gatte ki sabzi was reasonably palatable; the rest were subpar at best.The service further added to our dissatisfaction. The restaurant appeared understaffed, with servers unable to cater to guests properly. We even had to fetch water ourselves—a basic expectation that went unmet. When we expressed our concerns about the food, the staff was dismissive and simply suggested we should have ordered à la carte instead of buffet, showing little regard for our feedback.At ₹1700 per person, the buffet is vastly overpriced for the quality of food and service provided. This was an unfortunate experience that I would not recommend to others.
