Tucked in the hills of Vagamon, this hotel offers a curious mix of comfort and oddities. After completing the standard check-in routine—forms, a photo, passport handover—I was shown to a spacious room. The air conditioning worked well, the couch was inviting, and the TV was on blaring out a Bollywood melodrama. The room itself was comfortable. Hot water, good AC, good wifi. The pool, though sparkling clean, felt oddly disconnected. No sun loungers, and the only seating was a solitary park bench, positioned awkwardly five meters from the water—almost as though relaxation had been an afterthought. However, the real surprise came at 5 a.m., when the serenity of the morning was shattered by loud community music. It was being pumped from speakers about 500 meters away in the town, and while it started off as an unusual wake-up call, it didn’t stop. Ninety minutes later, the music was still going strong, filling the air with a relentless, almost governmental energy that felt less like a peaceful morning ritual and more like an obligation to endure. While the hotel offers a comfortable and quiet space, that distant, booming music serves as an unwelcome, and oddly persistent, reminder that peace in Vagamon is a bit more negotiable than you'd expect.
