Once the promenade around the Kemps Corner is over, visit Chicken Centre. The menu of Chinese cuisine is recommended to try at Chicken Centre. You are offered to eat nicely cooked tandoori chicken, chinese soup and butter chicken. Order good beer.

The convenient location of this place makes it easy to reach even in rush hours. The gracious staff meets you at this spot all year round. Fine service is something clients like here. You will pay attractive prices for your meal. The modern decor and peaceful atmosphere let visitors feel relaxed here.

Why CC is No Longer The Shady Watering Hole.

Chicken Centre is the quintessential Shindian Joint.

Frankly I've said all there is to be said about almost every Shindian Joint in South Mumbai.

If you don't know Shindian ...just read a few of my reviews and never call yourself a lover of food till you know what a Shindian Bar, Udupi, Chindian, Mindian, Hindu Hotel, Snacks corner etc are...

Chicken Centre was my Goto Shindian Bar, everyone has one, and with my limited budget and unlimited appetite, this was mine.

(I never drank when I was regular here....but that's another story).

I had a standard order (don't we all) and despite being dark and dingy this was my happy place.

Then I Grew up my financial situation changed and I stopped visiting this place (again a standard story).

The taste of that Paneer Makhani and Butter Naan and Veg Kadhai and EFR always stayed with me though.

I stopped visiting but would occasionally parcel my order..

Hence I was really excited to revisit this place when it reopened after a facelift (Every shindian...this is getting highly repetitive ).

nostalgia, not the same, blah blah blah...

The final gist is..

The Paneer Makhani , Butter Naan  , Butter Chicken is just that different enough from other shindians for me to parcel food from here.

At best you can parcel these and the famous chicken chilly and see is you like the taste, or to test for love at first bite.

-s prices are now at par with other better shindians. bad location for parking even for two wheelers.

+/-s crowd is not as family friendly (but there are even female only tables sometimes). TV showing matches.

+s tastes exactly the same since when I can remember, the dishes are unique enough for me to crave though not in signature category, the interiors are now bright and window just like I like it.

People don't change their Shindian watering holes and neither will you...nor will they ever be a culinary destination, some of the dishes are unique though not signature.
