‘Chez Pushpa’ was such a great experience and I recommend it to anyone who has a chance to visit Pondicherry. We always seek out intimate participation in local contexts wherever we travel to and this really was an opportunity to savour the unique Franco-Tamil cuisine as well as learn more about the diasporic community. Located in the heart of the city, (about 15 minutes from the White Town via auto rickshaw) Pushpa auntie’s home offers a unique blend of French and South Indian flavours that will definitely leave you wanting more. The chef, Pushpa auntie, is a master of her craft, and her passion for Creole cuisine shines through in every dish. From the delicious Chaiyos (Vietnamese spring rolls) to the flavourful Prawn Vindaloo, every bite is a delight. The welcoming and intimate setting adds to the overall experience, making it feel and taste truly like a home-cooked meal. Noel uncle was really friendly and attentive and more than happy to explain the dishes and their ingredients, while regaling us with wonderful stories from both Pondicherry and France. (We missed the opportunity to meet Anita, Pushpa auntie’s daughter, but it was lovely conversing with her online and being further recommended the best bakeries in town) Overall, "Chez Pushpa" is a culinary gem in Pondicherry, a most memorable gastronomic affair, and a must-visit for anyone looking to try the authentic Creole cuisine. What a beautiful compliment and it was lovely having you both in our home. Yes we thrive as much as possible to share our authentic cuisine of Pondicherry to the guests visiting us. Our cuisine is hardly known. Pondicherry has a lot of culinary history and we are trying our best level to keep it alive. Thank you very much again for trusting us.

This was one of the most unique experiences I have had. The food was unique for us and delicious, all cooked from scratch by Mam Pushpa. We enjoyed talking to Mr. Noel, and the house is lovely. Anita, their daughter provided us some unique recommendations for our way back to Chennai, and we enjoyed all the sights and eateries. Chez Pushpa is definitely a must visit.
