I usually don’t write reviews, but my experience at Cheflab (Boring Road) was so frustrating that I cannot stay silent. Let me be very clear — this place is highly overrated and definitely not worth your time or money. First of all, the so-called “famous” chilli chicken that everyone keeps hyping? Absolute disaster. The taste was pathetic, and nothing close to what good chilli chicken should be. Honestly, I wouldn’t even call it average, let alone “best.” If this is their signature dish, then it speaks volumes about the quality of everything else on their menu. But bad food can still be forgiven if the service is good — unfortunately, here it only gets worse. The attitude of the staff was shocking. Instead of addressing my genuine complaint politely, they started arguing and justifying themselves. Their exact attitude was like: “Everyone says this is the best, so you must be wrong.” Excuse me? That’s not how you treat paying customers. Instead of listening and improving, they were only busy proving themselves right. Such arrogance is completely unacceptable in the hospitality business. The overall vibe of the café is equally disappointing. Nothing feels welcoming, the atmosphere is dull, and when you combine it with the rude behavior of the staff, it becomes a place you want to leave immediately. Cafés are supposed to be relaxing, but here it felt more like a battle just to make a simple complaint heard. To sum it up: bad food, terrible vibe, arrogant staff, and zero respect for customers. The way they handled my complaint showed they don’t value feedback and they definitely don’t care about customer satisfaction. If this is how they deal with issues, then I wonder how they’re even running a café. I regret spending both my time and money here, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options around where you’ll actually be treated with respect and served decent food. Cheflab is a big NO from me. Worst experience ever.
