Chamraj Tea Center in Ooty is a fantastic spot, especially if you’re a tea lover. Nestled among the picturesque mountains, it’s about a 12 km drive from Ooty. The route to the store is quite scenic, with lush greenery and rolling hills all around. The shop is directly associated with the Chamraj Estate, so you’re getting tea right from the source. They offer an impressive variety of teas, including unique options like mango tea, fruit tea, green tea, white tea, lemon tea, and even gun powder tea. There’s something for every palate here. Besides the wide range of teas, they also sell salted cookies at just 10/- per pack, which make for a delightful snack to accompany your tea. The setting of the shop itself is charming, surrounded by the natural beauty of the area. It’s a peaceful place to relax, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea, and take in the beautiful mountain views. I have fond memories of this place because I used to bunk classes and spend time here during my master’s program at Ooty. It’s a great spot to revisit if you’re in the area and want to experience some local tea culture.
