I recently visited Chalukya Samrat Café on Church Street, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The ambience is very good and tidy, giving a comfortable and clean vibe. The café has a nice mix of traditional and modern style, making it a relaxing spot to enjoy South Indian delicacies right in the busy heart of the city. When it comes to food, the Open Dosa and Masala Dosa were really good — crisp, flavorful, and served fresh. I’d rate them 4 out of 5 for taste and presentation. The noodles were a delightful surprise, perfectly cooked with the right balance of spice and flavor — definitely a 5 out of 5 dish. The Bonda soup, however, was just average; while the bonda was decent, the soup tasted more like rasam, which didn’t quite match the expected flavor. The service here is self-service, which is quite organized, though you might have to wait a little during rush hours. The staff maintain cleanliness and ensure quick turnaround at the counters. As for pricing, it’s on the expensive side, which is understandable given the Church Street location. Overall, Chalukya Samrat Café is a great place for clean ambience and tasty food, especially their dosas and noodles, though prices are a bit steep.
