Calicut Cafeteria is a popular spot known for its Arabian-style dishes, and I had high expectations when I visited. I tried the Masala Shawaya, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The chicken was not as tender as I expected, and the seasoning felt unbalanced, lacking the rich flavors I was looking forward to. The masala didn’t blend well with the meat, making it an underwhelming experience. While the service was prompt and the ambiance decent, the taste of the Masala Shawaya did not meet my expectations. Given its reputation, I was hoping for something much better. Perhaps other dishes here are worth trying, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend the Masala Shawaya. Visited recently and had their famous masala shawai with mandhi rice. Lot of side dips and a small piece of halwa served as complimentary dishes. Their masala shawaii is too good, spicy and flavourful. The quality of chicken used is good. Mandhi rice is average. I didn't know about this cafeteria till my wife introduced me. Wow, super food Had Shawai ½ parcel It was very yummy and tasty Well packed with 4 dips and 3 Kubus and just 210 Rupees only.
