Cafe Trofima, Dadar — a place we won’t be revisiting anytime soon. What should’ve been a simple, pleasant group meal turned into a frustrating experience highlighting everything that can go wrong with restaurant service.Despite clearly ordering vegetarian sandwiches — and even double and triple-checking with the server — we were shockingly served chicken. A non-vegetarian friend at our table was the one who pointed it out, after we had already eaten some. When confronted, the server casually admitted that he’d “gotten confused.” No apology worth mentioning, no urgency to correct the mistake, just a shrug and indifference.As if that weren’t enough, several other dishes we had ordered never arrived because the same server simply forgot to place the order — even after confirming it with us earlier. The combination of negligence, poor communication, and complete lack of accountability was astonishing.Serving meat to vegetarians is not a small mistake — it’s a severe breach of trust. For a cafe to treat something like that so lightly is downright irresponsible. Between the careless service and nonexistent management oversight, Cafe Trofima has ensured one thing: we won’t be returning.
