I’ve been a fan of Platform 9 ¾ since it was a Harry Potter-themed café, where you could sip on Butterbeer and munch on items straight out of the Wizarding World. The atmosphere was more Accio Magic than Expelliarmus—totally immersive and fun! But I recently visited after they ditched the theme, and now it’s just a regular café with a standard menu. While the vibe is still cozy, it’s definitely not the Expecto Patronum of cafés anymore. The food and drinks are decent, but let’s just say if you were expecting the magical Lumos moments of the Harry Potter universe, you might be a little disappointed. Honestly, if you’ve been dreaming of Butterbeer or a little Wingardium Leviosa with your latte, you might feel like you've been hit with Petrificus Totalus instead. On top of that, they really need to consider renaming the place. Platform 9 ¾“still screams” Mischief Managed and not in a good way! If you walk in thinking you’re about to step into the magical world of Harry Potter and end up with just a regular café, it’s a bit like getting hit by a Confundo charm. People could easily feel confused, let down, and maybe even a little Cruciatus Curse-ed by the false advertising. In conclusion, it’s still a good spot for coffee, but the magic is definitely gone. Just don’t expect to catch a glimpse of a Nimbus 2000 anytime soon.
