Café Ideal at Girgaon Chowpatty enjoys a lovely location—right across the beach, with a relaxed, old-Bombay charm that’s perfect for a breezy evening meal. The vegetarian food is satisfying, and the menu offers a good variety for those looking to unwind by the sea. We tried the mac and cheese pasta, akuri (spiced scrambled eggs), paneer bhurji, and a draft beer. The dishes were well-prepared and flavourful—simple comfort food done right. However, the experience was somewhat diminished by the reluctant staff and noticeably delayed service. Despite the place not being overly crowded, getting attention from the servers took repeated efforts, which took away from the otherwise peaceful vibe. Overall, it’s a spot with great potential—ideal for a casual outing if you're not in a hurry. A little more warmth and efficiency from the staff could turn this average experience into something truly enjoyable.
