I work near Chubby Chai and often visit this cute little place. However, today was a disappointing experience. My colleagues and I went there for breakfast and ordered three types of Maggi — cheese Maggi, veg Maggi, and egg Maggi — which cost us ₹199 in total. We placed the order at 9:29 AM. Unfortunately, the Maggi dishes were served one after another with long gaps in between, even though all of us were sitting together and had placed the order at the same time. The cheese Maggi was served first, then the veg Maggi. We eventually had to get the egg Maggi packed, as we couldn’t afford to spend more time during our short breakfast break. There was only one person in the kitchen, handling all the orders alone. When I asked him why they were accepting so many orders if there was no staff to manage them, he got upset. He called me back and said I couldn’t speak to him like that, almost as if he were the customer and I were the staff. He questioned me, “How do you know how much time it takes to cook Maggi?” — but didn’t respond when I asked him the same. He went on to say I didn’t have manners, and then added, “Tum jaise mujhse baat karoge, waise hi main baat karunga.” As a woman, I felt disrespected — especially in a place where I work and am known professionally. All I want to say is: if you're short-staffed, please inform your customers about expected delays. We would understand. It’s not about how long Maggi takes — it’s about setting the right expectations and treating customers respectfully. I’ve been living in Bangalore for three months now, and have never had a disagreement with anyone, not even with local people during my daily travels. This was the first time I felt so uncomfortable — and that too, not because of a local, but someone who seemed to be from outside. I genuinely hope the management takes this seriously. Please consider hiring more kitchen staff so the place can continue to serve well — without compromising on service or respect.
