I visited Bombay Island Café yesterday with my Partner, expecting a bean‑to‑cup specialty coffee experience—and unfortunately left deeply disappointed by the poor seating coordination and abrupt staff interaction. From the outset, the seating process was mishandled: I asked if a vacant chair was available and was promptly seated. Moments later, the waiter returned and said: “bajuke jaane wale hai—wait for five minutes, and then you can move to that chair”—with no apology or explanation. What made it worse: I clearly saw other customers were already sitting before being seated myself—this should have been communicated before asking me to wait. I eventually walked away from the café. Having explored many cafes with respected brand names, I was truly surprised by how unwelcoming and uncoordinated this experience felt—it was one of the worst I’ve encountered. This lack of transparency and courtesy made the entire interaction feel dismissive and unwelcoming. Proper etiquette would have involved either advising me before seating that the chair was currently occupied or offering an alternate table immediately, accompanied by an apology. I urge management to train staff better so guests feel welcome—not shuffled away.

The coffee here is amazing, sandwiches here are equally tasty. Really loved the clean and simple ambience with the Coffee Setup in the backrooms. The selection of coffee here which they sell here is so wide you definitely need to try it out. It’s in Godrej One so pretty much accessible and it is a quiet and quaint place so most people would love it. Would definitely recommend and revisit this place.
