We visited The Black Sheep Bistro (BSB) for lunch on a rainy day and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Located within the Fort Aguada area a popular tourist destination the restaurant is surrounded by a historic charm. Do note that there’s a ₹100 parking charge and an entry fee of ₹100 per person for Goan residents visiting the fort. However if you're heading only to the restaurant these charges are waived. BSB is a fine-dining restaurant with both outdoor and indoor seating options. Due to the rain we chose to sit in the indoor AC section which was calm and quiet with soft music adding to the relaxed ambiance. We happened to be the only guests at the time which made the atmosphere even more serene. We started with some fancy mocktails which were beautifully presented and refreshing. The bao and chicken starters were excellent full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The rice and noodles we ordered were also delicious and satisfying. Presentation across dishes was impressive and everything we tried felt thoughtfully prepared. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welltrained which enhanced the overall dining experience. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of food, service, and ambiance justify the cost. Overall, a great experience. we’ll definitely be back for more. The Black Sheep is a longtime favorite of ours, thanks to management for excellent cocktail and food recommendations. We were thrilled when they opened a location in our neighborhood at the scenic jail complex. It’s now our go-to spot for dreamy date nights or laid-back afternoon drunches, offering stunning views and a relaxed vibe. Our latest visit included vegetarian dishes (a rarity for us!). The Five Spiced Lotus Stem was crispy, flavorful, and a must-try. The Jackfruit Tostada had a perfect mix of bite-sized flavors. For non-veg, the Korean-style pork and Chicken Bao were hits, while the Peanut Crusted Fish with Orange Beurre remains an all-time favorite. The only slight miss was the Prawns Pad Thai, which seemed too tomato-ee. Dessert was an easy winner—the Basque Cheesecake is a must-have. Lunchtime here is particularly serene compared to the bustling evenings, especially on weekends. Pro Tip: Explore the jail complex for sunset photos or call ahead for a reservation to skip the ticket. Highly recommended for great food, drinks, and ambiance! My birthday dining at the Black Sheep Bistro Aguada was an experience that exceeded all of my expectations. From the breathtaking location overlooking the Arabian Sea to the exceptional service and outstanding cuisine, this restaurant has truly earned its 5-star. For me, the menu was equally impressive, with a great selection of classic cocktails and inventive dishes with a touch of Goan element. The ambiance of the Black Sheep Bistro is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy decor that sets the perfect tone for an intimate dinner. We truly enjoyed the 75 Dry Rub Chicken, Spiced Chicken Bao, Goan Risotto & Mexican Fried rice. And I highly recommend the star dish of the night Cheese Garlic Bread paired with Prawns Plancha. Overall, the Black Sheep Bistro Aguada is a dining destination that should not be missed.
