Comparing to other Taj hotel restaurants in Chennai, like Southern Spice, I think Beyond Indus was underwhelming. It was more expensive and less tasty, though overall still very good. Just expected better for the money spent. Service was also very slow given we were the only customers at that point, and they also forgot to bring something we had ordered. The house special Indus Dal dish itself was very rich, creamy, and buttery -- probably 30% more than I would have liked. It also was lacking a little in salt. The paneer tikka was excellent, probably the best of the lot. The bread (naan and paratha) weren't the best I've had by a long shot. I've had way better in Kailash Parbhat and Delhi Highway, restaurants that are 30% the cost. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: ₹1,600–1,800 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection, Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian options, but not as many vegan. Vegetarian ones are very fatty (butter and cream).
