I went with my friends to Barbeque Nation, Crown Interiors Mall, Faridabad for lunch. Since the booking was made through Zomato, we were informed about two rates: ₹899 per person (exclusive of taxes) and ₹999 per person (inclusive of taxes). However, despite this, we were billed at ₹999 per person plus additional taxes, which was completely misleading. We were also told that welcome drinks would be complimentary, but in the final bill, we were charged extra for them. Another major issue was the billing process. At the time of billing, we were made to wait for nearly 50 minutes with the excuse that the server was down. We have been to many restaurants in our life, but never have we had to wait so long just to get the bill. What was so unusual here that billing took so much time, while in the same mall, when we shopped at other outlets, their bills were generated instantly within seconds? Finally, when the bill was provided, not only had the per person rate been wrongly applied, but an additional ₹424+ taxes were charged unnecessarily. The total bill for 8 people came to ₹8,915, even though our order was strictly vegetarian and no non-veg items were included. Overall, the experience was highly disappointing due to: Miscommunication and misrepresentation of rates (₹899 exclusive vs. ₹999 inclusive). Wrong charges being added (taxes and welcome drinks). Extremely delayed billing (almost 1.5 hours wasted). Poor justification of “server down,” while in the same mall, other outlets generated bills within seconds. This was not at all expected from a brand like Barbeque Nation.
