Nestled on the Corjuem side of the Aldona-Corjuem Cable Stayed Bridge And Road, Bao is a small restaurant known for its selection of Chinese and seafood dishes. The setting has seen renovations in recent years, transitioning from its original utilitarian setup to a more refined atmosphere. Despite its compact size, with only 7-8 tables available, it's become a popular spot on the island, so it might fill up quickly during peak times.
Previous diners have commented on the satisfying range of dishes offered, with items like Crispy Chicken and Malai Tikka receiving favorable mentions. Nonetheless, there may be occasional delays when the chef handles a full house single-handedly, and service can sometimes be inattentive. At the time of the last customer review four years ago, some patrons were amused by the young waiter's occasional absent-mindedness.
Open every day except Monday, its operational hours are split between lunchtime and the evening, encouraging both midday and dinner visits. While information about Bao’s current state is scarce, its reputed blend of reasonably priced meals and cozy environment continues to linger as part of its charm. For those exploring affordable dining options in Corjuem, albeit with dated insights, Bao could be a potential visit when in the town.
Don’t be fooled by the zomato pictures of Bao. They’ve undergone a renovation and it’s no longer a red plastic shabby mess. Bao is a small joint in the island of Corjuem. With just 7-8 tables the place surely fills up. The food is reasonably priced and the quantity is alright for 3 small eaters.
We tried their Crispy Chicken, Lollipops, Batter fried squid, Malai Tikka, Cheese Garlic Naan, Fried Rice and Garlic Chicken. Everything tasted really nice. The Naan can be missed as it’s not stuffed. It’s just grated cheese atop.
However be forewarned there is just one chef and if it’s a full house, he struggles.
Also the waiter who looks like a young boy is a little absent minded. So please get a status check done on your food , if you’ve been waiting too long.
Decent place and decent food, considering they are so remote. They home deliver as well, which is great. Service staff is a little confused, and it takes time for orders to be processed.
