Sector Five's latest offering specializing in Bengali food. The name fits the bill perfectly.
Sadly, we have not tried their thali. But have heard, not every item in their menu is always available. We tried their fowl and fish cutlets. Both were good. The fish quality and the prices are good.
Bangaliana a Bengali Cuisine Restaurant which really do justice to its name. The place takes you to a world where you feel the rich Bengali taste. Though the ambience and decor failed to impress, I was pretty happy with the food and the behaviour of the staffs. The decor should be improved and can be decorated in a Bengali style. The menu is filled with authentic Bengali food with varieties of fish dishes, crab and mutton dishes. The first visit to this place was pretty good and these were the following items which was taken:
***DRINKS***
# AAM PORA SARBAT : This drink is made with burned raw mangoes mashed and mixed with water and sugar syrup. The tangy and sweet taste with the raw mango flavour was just perfect to start with.
***FOOD***
#MUTTON THALI : This was a special thali which had some lovely bengali dishes:
|| Rice: The quality of the rice was really good, which was just the perfect companion with other lovely dishes.
|| Mooger Dal: The dal was good in taste but could have been little thicker, which could have enhanced the preparation.
|| Potol Posto : Again the same thing, was good in taste but could have been little more thicker and less of gravy as potol posto is much better when its less of gravy.
|| Kosha Mangsho: This was the best dish by far. Everything was perfect about it, from the spices to its taste. It was just authentic Bengali recipe served in a very simple way. The mutton pieces were soft and well cooked which was just heaven.
|| Rosogolla : Nothing special in it. Good in taste but could have been little bigger.
|| Aam Chatni : The chatni was just perfectly made. The combination of sweet and sour was something which can make you love this item.
#BHETKI FRY WITH KASHONDI : The Bhetki fry was well made. And it was just the way it should be. The crispy outer layer with soft Bhekti fish inside. It was lovely in taste. The Kashondi was just enhancing the overall taste.
***DESSERT***
#NOLEN GURER ICE CREAM: I don't think anything can be bettr than this. Absolute beauty both by look and taste. I can't describe how good it was. The flavour was just amazing to increase its want more and more. Definitely going back for this one.

LAST WORDS?
A must go to place for a person who loves Bengali Cuisine. You can get great varieties of Bengali food at this place and you won't be disappointed at all. Though the ambience is not great which they should improve, the taste of the food will definitely forget everything else.
A new unit of Bangaliana was opened a fortnight back, near Chinar Park, just beside Arsalan above VIP sweets. It is a fairly decent place, once inside.I say so ,because one has to take the lift squeezing oneself to find way due to a motorcycle parked in the ground floor!
Anyway, the food was okay, though one may be disappointed as everything in the menu imay not be available, as I found out that even the Fish Fry was not available.Service is okay. Thalis with fixed meal with limited options are available. A non-veg Thali is 695/- plus taxes.
