Stopped by this place in Mumbai for a quick biryani, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious! The flavors, aroma, and meat were perfectly balanced and blended beautifully together. We also tried a few of their chicken starters and loved every single one of them. Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid—long enough that I’m pretty sure my first real chicken tandoori happened right here. The menu has changed over the years, sure, but the place has stubbornly refused to lose its old-school charm. Portions? Still generous. This isn’t food that apologizes for itself. The Chinese starters have absolutely nothing to do with China—and thank God for that. They’re loud, greasy, Indo-Chinese comfort bombs that slap hard. Pick any of the chicken gravies and you’re in a good place emotionally. I will say this: the kebabs feel a little smaller than they used to. Shrinkflation? Age? Betrayal? I don’t know. Still good. Just noted. Twenty-one years ago, when I was a broke college student and my parents would leave town—trusting me alone at home far more than they should have—I ordered from here like it was a civic duty. My friends from that era still remember how much food I could put away from this place. This is not health food. No one here is pretending otherwise. But it hits all the right buttons. I ordered so often that before food apps, before algorithms, the guy answering the phone knew my order just by hearing my voice. Within an hour, like clockwork, the food would land at my parents’ place. I’d sit there demolishing it while binge-watching American TV, living my best irresponsible life. Some of my old favorites are gone now, but the current menu holds its own. I’ve eaten here with my wife, with her family, across decades and phases of life. Parking is usually manageable. There’s a mosque nearby, Bombay Hospital around the corner, and the now-shuttered Liberty Cinema—where I watched half my childhood movies. The area isn’t glamorous. It doesn’t try to be. It’s old Mumbai, still breathing, still feeding people properly. This place survives because it’s trusted. Because it’s consistent. Because people who know food still show up here quietly and eat without drama. What’s instantly noticeable is who eats here. Old-school locals, serious food people, and a steady stream of expats—especially Arab expats—who clearly didn’t wander in by accident. Late at night, you’ll see many happy Muslim families settling in comfortably, sharing plates, unhurried, treating the place like an extension of home. Go without hesitation. Ask the manager what to order. Then sit down and let them take care of you. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹800–1,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
