Utterly disappointing experience – Worst 5-star buffet I've ever had I visited 24/7 at The Lalit Ashok expecting a premium dining experience, but what I got was an absolute disaster. The buffet was shockingly underwhelming – limited spread, average taste, and zero attention to quality or presentation. But what truly ruined the evening was the unprofessional and dismissive attitude of Chef Abdul Kayum. When I politely pointed out what was wrong with the food, his response was casual indifference: “This is how it is, and it won’t change.” No effort to understand the issue, no courtesy to ask what exactly was wrong, and no intent to improve. It’s baffling that a 5-star property would allow such arrogance and complacency to be the face of their kitchen. If this is the kind of chef you’re choosing to represent your hotel’s food quality, Lalit is on a steep decline — and it's already begun. I would not recommend this buffet to anyone. There are far better options in Bangalore that respect your palate, your feedback, and your time. Hugely disappointed. Price per person: ₹1,200–1,400 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We have been coming to Baluchi for years, my cousin even had his wedding reception at this hotel. In the past, it used to be one of our favorite North Indian restaurants when visiting Bengaluru. However, the quality has seriously declined. We ordered a prawn appetizer that was so overcooked, we struggled cutting it with a knife. Our chicken was lacking flavor and salt and the marinade did not seem cooked through. The vegetarian appetizers were fine, but nothing special. They were also out of large bottled waters and had no cold bottles either, as well as being out of top shelf gin, citing a busy previous night. Notably, the service was lacking, despite us being the only table for dinner. Food came out before drinks. As for those drinks, my grandmother ordered a salt lassi and it came excessively salted to the point of being not drinkable— when we told the waitstaff, we were told, “Well, you ordered salt.” We had come to celebrate our last night of the trip and ended up walking out after the extremely disappointing appetizers to find dinner elsewhere. Overall: Skip. You can find much better dining options in the city. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
