I visited Kottayam Restaurant to try their crab soup . The taste of the soup itself was good — I would rate it around 3.8/5 in terms of flavor. However, the overall dining experience was quite disappointing. The restaurant floor felt slippery, as if oil was spilled, which gave an unhygienic and uncomfortable vibe. To make matters worse, there was no AC or even proper fans, making the atmosphere very unpleasant. The pricing was extremely high. My bill came to nearly ₹900 (including CGST, SGST, and Service Charge), which felt unjustified given the overall experience. The crab soup alone was around ₹400, far too expensive for what was served. When I requested the reception staff to remove the service charge, they refused to cancel it, which made the experience even more frustrating. Overall, while the food was somewhat decent, the poor ambience, lack of comfort, high prices, and bad service attitude made this a pathetic experience. Definitely not worth the money.
