As visitors from Andhra Pradesh, we do not know the local language spoken in Kerala. However, our experience with the people there was wonderful. Everyone we met was very supportive, friendly, and welcoming. Even though the hotel was quite busy and full of customers, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and communicated with us in Hindi, making us feel comfortable right away. They patiently guided us to the first-floor dining area and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our visit. We had the opportunity to try several traditional Kerala dishes, including Idiyappam and other local specialties. The food was delicious, well-cooked, and full of authentic flavors. What impressed us the most was the way the staff served us according to our preferences and instructions. They paid close attention to our requests and made sure everything was prepared and served exactly as we wanted. The staff members displayed excellent patience, professionalism, and communication skills. Their hospitality made our dining experience even more enjoyable and memorable. Overall, the kindness and welcoming nature of the people in Kerala left a lasting impression on us. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home, even though we were far from our own state. Ordered Chicken Thoran from this restaurant through Zomato for **₹280 (excluding delivery charges)** and it turned out to be one of the worst value-for-money food orders I’ve had. The quantity was shockingly small — **even less than what many local hotels provide for around ₹120**. Naturally, when something costs more than double, customers expect either **better quality or a larger portion**, but neither was the case here. After the order, I checked the restaurant’s menu that people have uploaded in Google reviews and noticed that most chicken dishes like **Chicken Fry, Chicken Curry and Chicken Pirattu are listed around ₹120 at the restaurant**. Even if prices have increased a bit now, charging **₹280 on delivery apps for the same items while giving such a tiny portion feels completely unreasonable**. What makes it worse is that the **taste was just average**, nothing that stands out. Paying **₹280 for a portion that feels like a ₹100 dish** is extremely disappointing. If you are ordering online expecting decent quantity for the price, you might want to think twice. Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 2 Service: 1

We would like to clarify that platforms like Swiggy and Zomato charge commissions of over 45% on food items. Due to this, prices on these platforms may appear higher than our in-restaurant pricing. However, we always encourage our customers to visit the restaurant and order directly, as this helps avoid intermediary costs and ensures better value for money. Additionally, the price of ₹120 per plate mentioned in your review reflects rates from several years ago. Our current pricing is ₹200 per plate, in line with rising costs and market standards. We kindly request you to verify the facts before posting reviews on public platforms. Thank you for your understanding and support. We truly appreciate your concern and look forward to serving you again.

Wanted to enjoy the delicious mutton curry today from Balan's Kamalam Restaurant and had placed an order, big enough to feed five people, via Zomato. Restaurent cancelled entire order without reason and Zomato initiated refund but I was not notified. All I got from Zomato over 30 minutes were countless uninvested apologies and a request to place a fresh order. First they said it was a glitch, then they said items were unavailable but I could still somehow place a fresh order(?). Then they said items are available and I could place same order from here. Escalated the contradictory "support" to a "senior" executive but I lost more time since he didn't have anything new to offer. He kept apologising even after I requested him to stop annoying me with a "sorry" at the beginning of every sentence which convinced me that they were not listening to thier customers but instead lagging the conversation for a payday. Called restaurent to confirm before risking a reorder but nobody picked up. I've lost confidence ordering food from here through online channels, which I solely rely upon. Settled my hunger with tea and snacks but the cravings persist. As you can infer, I tried my best to stay loyal to you but Zomato's useless support and your silence during and after the order rejection is a red flag for me. Hoping that my grievance would only help the restaurant and future online customers. I will reconsider buying from you once I'm convinced that my efforts aren't in vain. Thanks.
