It had always been my dream to taste the food here.. so I really got excited when you had put up a stall in Stanley Medical College.. The smell was great and the smoke just drove my appetite.. my only request is to use pita bread instead of parota in chicken wrap.. other wise I would Definitely recommend it to all my friends.. kudos????✌
Recently visited this street BBQ and found it so interesting and tasty food specially Chicken leg piece and kebab. They were serving so quick which I like a lot. Since I like kebab so I found this is the best place to fill my stomach With desire one. We were around 5 people and we ate a lot and when the bill came I was shocked it was only 650 rupees.
Nice place to have non veg specially. For veg baby corn and pineapple was amazing. Looking forward to visiting this again.
After a tiring weekday, me and my friends decided to go BBQ but, this time, we thought not to repeat the regular ones around the city and, looked out for a new place. Based on a friends suggestion, stopped by at BBQ On Street at Arumbakkam.
???? Location:
BBQ On Street has a very good name and an easy spot. Not because of its brand (Just Evolving) but for Actor Vijay. Yes! You heard that right. It is located right opposite to the Marriage hall of Actor Vijay at Arumbakkam, which is an easy spot for the local residents and for anyone in Chennai.
???? Ambiance:
Well, the name says it all. It's a street ride and quick bite. Located at the parking lot of another restaurant, this is a "Eat on the go" type.
For the people who can't stand a while, they do allow you to seat indoors of the restaurant where they had put up the bike.
That's a good collaboration with the other brand just to make their customers are happy and comfortable. Not many restaurants does that parternering with different brands.
Kudos to it ????
????️ Food:
Menu was quite disappointing. Limited to chicken varieties under non vegetarian. On the other hand, the vegetarian section had pineapple, paneer and baby corn.
Smoky chicken strips was quite chewy, could have been more grilled with extra sprinkles of butter as it was a bit dry on the outer layer. - Needs improvement on strips. The taste and the spice level were good. It would have been great if the strips was tender enough to slit through easily.
Juicy chicken wings was perfect! We loved these❤️ The barbecue sauce with lemon juice on top was super tangy and juicy! It was cooked to the perfection without being burnt nor hard.
Slow cooked chicken drumstick was too heavy for us. Usually the drumsticks be in average size making a person to have two. But this one was little larger than the rest, with extra layers of chicken thigh making it heavy with just one. It was neither juicy or dry. It was soft and well spiced up with a bit of black burnt on the outer skin leaving it crisp.
The wraps, chicken and paneer were quite the same with the ingredients except, - the main being either chicken or paneer. I would suggest you to order either of the one coz, more or less, the paneer wrap tasted the same as chicken. One wrap and a drumstick will sure fly your hunger away!
On the veg grills, the paneer was super soft, well burnt edges and spicy. This one is a quick. I would recommend to start with paneer grill for a super start and by the time you finish enjoying this, you will have your chicken BBQ'd.
Pineapple grill was same as the other BBQ's with the taste and texture except for the fact that it's been served with mayonnaise which could have been avoided. I really dint get along with mayo on pineapple.
Baby corn grill was average and it kinda ruined the corn flavour with too much of lemon. The lemon infact dominated the corn and it tasted like a lemon tart. Disappointed with it.
???????? Service:
Service was quick and responsive. They were open to the feedbacks and try to get us dishes replaced if we weren't comfortable. Staffs are very friendly and courteous making sure the customers are satisfied with the offerings.
Two IT guys started it and they run after office hours out of their passion. Kudos to them ????????
???? Value for money?
Yes! It is definitely value for money for the quick bites they offer. Price was low and affordable for everyone.
✔️ Final Verdict:
Overall, I would say the food was good except for one or two like the chicken strips and baby corn which definitely needs a complete rework on the ingredient and it's make.
Also, every dish were served with mayonnaise and mint more than of what it should be thus making it too heavy for us to eat.
Lemon sprays on the BBQ is a must for having it served tangy but too much of it made the baby corn lose its originality.
Rest were good, enjoyable and definite try when you are near Arumbakkam.
I would rate 3.5 stars for the food but to their amount of effort and service they put in to make their customers happy, I go with 4 stars. It's a new place and they are very open to constructive feedbacks and I'm sure they gonna lot improve on their offerings making it to be the best affordable BBQ's on street!!
