Perfectly cooked fish are among the dishes to be tasted at this restaurant. The great location of BALAKA LODGE makes it easy to reach even in rush hours. The well-trained staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Service at this place is something one can name terrific. You will like adequate prices. But most people who use Google didn't give this spot a high rating.

Disappointing Experience at Balaka Lodge, Bakkhali I recently stayed at Balaka Lodge, Bakkhali, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. While the location is convenient and the amenities are decent, the staff behavior was extremely disappointing. From the moment of check-in, the attitude of the front desk was rude and unhelpful. Simple requests were met with indifference, and any attempt to clarify concerns was dismissed outright. The restaurant staff lacked professionalism, often serving food in dirty trays and plates. Additionally, they refused to accommodate basic requests for children’s meals, making it difficult for families traveling with toddlers1. Room service was slow and inefficient, and the management seemed more interested in charging extra fees rather than ensuring guest comfort. Shockingly, guests were automatically charged tips without receiving any meaningful service. Overall, while Balaka Lodge may have a good location, the poor staff behavior and lack of hospitality make it a place I would not recommend. If you’re looking for a stress-free stay, it’s best to explore other options in Bakkhali

I stayed in premium AC room of this property which was neat and clean, cosy and comfortable. Ample space for 2-3 persons. It is located at a walking distance of 10 mins from the beach. The check in time was 12.30 but we arrived early and the owner allowed us to check in early at 11.30 am on request. There is a in house restaurant called Mangroves from which we tried some Chinese dishes which were average in taste. Otherwise as a hotel I will rate it 4/5. Service: 4

Small rooms but well maintained from inside. Won't get any view from the room as they are mostly back facing while common balconies face the road. Room are neat and clean, television was working, they also provided a towel, soap and shampoo. Sofa cum bed is also available in the room in case there is an extra guest. Geyser is also available in the bathroom. Sufficient space for parking 30+ cars. Food at the restaurant is also generally very good at reasonable prices except few items which turned out to be too oily. They also accommodated needs for infants like boiling milk and providing feeding bowls. Satisfied with the service. The only improvement based on my experience is they can provide an electric kettle for hot water during winters. Will be a big boost for the guests. Service: 4
