The meals at Azad for me "comfort food." The rice is served with a variety of traditional dishes that hit the spot. The Curries mainly that Sambar is thick and flavorful, and the Pulissery provides that perfect tangy balance and the Side Dishes as Usually accompanied by a fresh Thorans, Avial, and a crisp papadam, the meal feels complete. The Quality and Hygiene is the One thing can always on at Azad is consistency. The food quality is maintainable and the service is generally quick, even during the heavy lunch hour rush. About the melting Ambiance Depending on which branch you visited, I visited Azad at Mall of Travancore (MOT). Worst Experience Ever at Azad Star – Mall of Travancore Visited Azad Star at Mall of Travancore today, and it was an absolute disaster. Ordered a Mutton Biryani, but what I got was a joke — just a few tiny bits of meat and 4-5 pieces of small bones. After complaining, another waiter served me again, but it was the same nonsense — hardly any mutton, mostly bone. When I questioned them, they confidently said this is their “authentic mutton biryani.” What a shame! (Photos attached.) I’m not new to Azad — I’ve been a regular customer at their Overbridge branch, where the food is genuinely good. But this outlet at the Mall of Travancore is a total letdown. The “Star” in Azad Star should actually stand for ZERO. Azad built its name on quality biryani, but if this is what they’re serving now, they seriously need to change their slogan and recipe.
