1/5 — Extremely Disappointing Brunch Experience at Asia Alive, DoubleTree by Hilton. I recently visited Asia Alive at DoubleTree by Hilton for their sunday brunch buffet, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. To start with, the buffet spread was very limited for the price they charge. The live counters were poorly managed, and there was no visible menu or list of what was available. I ordered a red sauce spaghetti which they said would be served at the table — it never arrived until I followed up, and when it did, the pasta was undercooked and raw. Basic service was also lacking — bowls were not available, and we had to wait over 10 minutes to get just one, even after requesting two. Most of the dishes looked unappetizing, and many of the baked desserts were dry, tasting stale or reused. Even worse, the food trays had an unpleasant smell when opened, which was off-putting. The taste of the food was very average, definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel of this level. Apart from the pav bhaji, which was decent, almost everything else was disappointing — the kebabs were dry, and the coffee panna cotta was sour, making it inedible. The worst part was the hygiene — I found hair in the kofta and later even in a dessert. The rice served was of very poor quality, not even close to basmati. For a special brunch outing, this was extremely disheartening. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and dissatisfied, eventually eating outside. The price absolutely does not justify the quality, quantity, or service provided. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend Asia Alive for anyone looking for a quality brunch. You’re much better off dining at a good local restaurant than spending on this disappointing buffet.
