This restaurant and Chowrasta can be both really attractive for tourists. The chef at Ara restaurant cum bar cooks tasty chicken tikka and good paneer. Musicians make live music in the evening. A lot of people find that the staff is gracious here. Enjoyable service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of this place. The peaceful atmosphere gladdens visitors and attracts more clients. But many guests who use Google didn't grant this spot a high rating.

We popped in here looking for a snack and some drinks after we were tired and cold from walking around in the dark for a while. We feel like we wasted our money and we ended up buying alcohol and snacks, which we took back to our room for dinner. We tried to order Old Monk (rum) and Coke. They didn’t have any rum. So we tried for the Carlsberg (beer) - all out. We were going to just leave but my son had ordered a plate of chicken wings, which is not something you want to order here or in India in general, but kids don’t understand that. So French fries and Budweiser was added in. The fries were great! Better than the last place we ordered them, but the wings were awful. They were soggy and skinny. Felt like there was more skin than meat. We didn’t even eat them. Plus we couldn’t even hear each other over the karaoke, even though we were way in the back. Just wasn’t a good night for us at this place. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We just visited Ara Restaurant in Chaur Rasta, Darjeeling, and it was a very bad and ridiculous experience. They seriously don’t know how to behave with customers, and they also don’t have any manager with whom we can coordinate further.
