AR Rahman Family Restaurant is pretty near Kodaikanal Lake. Based on the guests' opinions, waiters serve nicely cooked grilled chicken, tandoori chicken and fried fish here. The efficient staff is the only thing that can spoil your evening at this restaurant. In accordance with the reviewers' opinions, AR Rahman Family Restaurant is famous for its spectacular service. According to most visitors' point of view, food isn't worth the high prices here. As a number of guests notice, the atmosphere is dull. This place is not highly appreciated by Google users who provided it a below average rating.

The price is too over for every items..i ordered veg biriyani and asked to parcel .For me its charged 189rs for it. But there was only tomato sauce for the biriyani.. Not even any thing for 189.. The rice was so poor. My family members ordered chapatti and kuruma.. Both are unable to eat its too hard like in north india.. This hotel doesn't have display borad on wall which contain food items and money. If we ask only they give menu cards. Over pricing + poor food = this hotel. if you are a vegetarian i will suggest small tea shop for break fast and dinner. They have good food at reasonable price. Ar Rahuman Restaurant - A Disappointing Experience in Kodaikanal Our family recently visited Ar Rahuman Restaurant in Kodaikanal for lunch, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered biriyani, fried rice, and chicken 65, and the quality was far from satisfactory. The biriyani, priced at ₹250 for a single plate with just one small piece of meat, felt overpriced for what it was. The chicken 65, while containing 7-8 small pieces, was served without any accompaniments like onion or lemon, which significantly detracted from the dish. Beyond the mediocre food quality, the service was truly pathetic. We felt neglected and the overall dining experience was unpleasant. To make matters worse, a few members of our family felt sick after eating the food, raising serious concerns about hygiene and food safety. I have already filed a complaint with the food safety authorities hoping they will take appropriate action. When paying the bill, I informed the owner that the food was mediocre, but they offered no response or acknowledgement whatsoever. This lack of concern further solidified our negative impression. I strongly advise against visiting Ar Rahuman Restaurant. The overpriced, mediocre food, coupled with the terrible service and potential food safety issues, makes it a place to avoid at all costs. Update from the health department With reference to the whatsapp complaint number 2277/2025, dt. 15.04.25, The AR Rahman hotel was inspected. Submitting the findings and action taken report as below, FE has valid license. Found NO stale or expired food. Raw material storing containers are old and found sticky. Immediately instructed to change them. They also changed. They adopted RUCO. Directed to maintain the food preparation area neat and clean. Issued Notice under sec. 55 giving directions for the betterment. Strictly warned to ensure the safe food supply. Further the hotel is kept under surveillamce. do Dindigul That's the power of common man. *******Don’t spoil your Kodaikanal trip by going to this restaurant ****** I went to dinner with family in “AR Rahman Family Restaurant” Kodaikanal. I ordered grill chicken and naan. Food quality was not good and it was half cooked. When we informed them to change it, they didn’t responded and even gave us the bill. We paid the bill and when I explained them about food quality they didn’t respond/attention and ask us to get out. We are hulimiated by the words they used against us like (“chicken elumbu varaikum saaputu mudichitu Ippa vanthu complain pannureengala”). Our kid also didn’t eat it. Even before ordering we asked them to bring a well cooked grill. Also, when I see the online reviews almost all of the reviews are negative that highlights the food quality and rude behaviour of the billing staff. I don’t have bills they didn’t give bill. Waiter gave dummy bill slip and they collect it in cash counter while we pay the bill. Grill chicken - 550 rs Egg Dosa 2 - 200 rs Panner Butter masala - 300 Naan 1 - 180 rs As we were unable to eat grill. We kept 50 percentage of food left.. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
