After a walk around Ashutosh Museum of Indian Art, many visitors stop by this restaurant. Chinese and Indian cuisines are must-order ones at Appayan. Nicely cooked chicken rolls, roti and chinese rice have a nice taste. You will appreciate good tea at this place.
Fast service is something clients agree upon here. Prices are democratic for the quality you get. But google users rated this spot and it didn't receive a high rating.

Located by the central Avenue in between the MG Road and Central metro station just opposite to the Medical College entrance Appayan is one of the oldest restaurant in Kolkata specially known for its 'Porota' and torkari. The porota is basically laccha type with a dry mix veg which is too good to taste. The same is of very less spices and dry but really delicious. It also has various rolls, soups Chicken items extra along with tea and coffee. The sitting arrangement is age old and the ambience is not so good but manageable. The owner should take care of improving the ambience for better marketing. But, it's a must try for the Paratha lovers.. Not the best of food...But serves your appetite when you are feeling hungry. The best part is you can seat and eat while relaxing your tired limbs which was the case with me. Nice behaviour. Do give it a visit...
