A local attraction - Mahathi Cultural Academy, that is situated beside this restaurant, is a part of the authentic culture of this city. Vegetarian cuisine will be what you are offered to try at Annapoorni. Here you will find good masala dosa.
The ambience is not at all upto the mark. The food though was better. Ghee Roast masala dosa was nice and crispy. Akki roti too was good but not the best yet. Button idlis dipped in sambar was a disappointment due to dull quality of sambar.
An average ambiance with average food and average service is all Annapoorani is all about.
As we entered we were greeted and being a weekday we found the entire restaurant almost empty. We ordered for mini idlis which didn't appeal good. Taste was average but the sambar was tasteless.
Next was ghee roast (masala) dosa which was never roasted. They even had paper roast ghee dosa and I never understood the difference between the two as they both seemed similar. Without breaking much of my head over the two I ordered ghee roast dosa which was not roasted at all. Moreover, I couldn't smell ghee anywhere around me.
In spite of insisting of getting more roasted my partner still recieved the same. The chutneys were average, sambar below average and masala average.
Onion and rava dosa was our next order. Tawa dosa as insisted was crisp but onion dosa was nothing great.
Overall a below average restaurant. There is nothing you will miss on this one if you don't go. I have had better ones so this one is not a place I would visit again.
Courteous staff and neat ambience.
