1/5 – Extremely Disappointing & Overpriced Experience at Andhra Ruchulu, JP Nagar, Bangalore I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at Andhra Ruchulu, JP Nagar, Bangalore last night was so bad that I genuinely feel others should be warned. We visited as a group of five people, expecting a decent Andhra-style meal, but what we got was shockingly poor. To begin with, the service was painfully slow. After placing our order — four starters and four biryanis (Prawns Biryani, Boneless Chicken Biryani, Paneer Biryani, and Mushroom Biryani) — it took nearly 35 minutes just to receive one starter. This kind of delay is unacceptable, especially when the restaurant was not heavily crowded. The Cauliflower Gobi starter was a disaster. It was not cooked properly at all — almost raw. It felt like raw cauliflower was simply coated in batter, dipped in oil for a few seconds, and served. No taste, no crispiness, no proper cooking. Now coming to the biryanis — calling them bad would actually be an understatement. Worst is a very small word here. In my entire life, I have never eaten such a pathetic version of biryani. I have travelled to many cities and eaten all kinds of biryanis — from premium restaurants to small hotels and even roadside stalls — but this was on a different level altogether, in the worst possible way. There was no aroma, no flavour, and no texture. The rice was completely soggy and overcooked, more like ragi sankati or a payasam-like consistency than biryani. It felt like some semi-liquid rice mix with a couple of pieces thrown in. Honestly, this was the first time I had such an idiotic excuse for biryani. The most frustrating part? The pricing. The quality of food served and the bill amount did not match at all. For this extremely poor-quality food for five people, the total bill came to exactly ₹3,550, which is absolutely not worth it by any standard. To make things worse, the restaurant had even added a service charge, despite such terrible food and slow service. We clearly refused to pay it, and only then did they provide a revised bill. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had — terrible food, slow service, and completely unjustified pricing. If you genuinely love food or are searching for good Andhra cuisine or biryani in Bangalore, please skip this place without any second thought. A complete waste of time and money. Will never visit again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹800–1,000
