Grievance Regarding Discriminatory Treatment at Amrita Hospital’s Non-Veg Canteen I have been staying at Amrita Ganga Guest House for the past eight days and have had a positive experience with the hospital’s medical services. The doctors, nurses, and support staff are well-trained, professional, and courteous. However, my experience at the Non-Veg Canteen near the guest house on March 18, 2025, was disappointing and concerning. At 12:59 PM, I purchased a fresh lime juice token (Token No. 22) for ₹25 and stood in line. While waiting, I noticed that everyone around me, including those who arrived much later, was served their orders—except me. Despite waiting for over an hour, my order was ignored. Seeing this, I approached the canteen counter to ask why I had not been served, but instead of addressing my concern, the staff showed complete indifference. Eventually, they refunded my money without any apology or explanation, making it clear that they had no interest in resolving my grievance. I strongly believe this was a case of discrimination, as all those who were served promptly appeared to be locals. Such behavior is unacceptable in a hospital that serves people from all over India. Visitors from other states should not have to face such treatment. I urge the hospital administration to investigate this issue and take strict action to prevent such incidents in the future. If such discriminatory practices continue, it will discourage patients from neighboring states from seeking medical care at this hospital.
