Located in the basement of a huge building. This snooker place has 3 rooms just for snooker along with a cafe. The cafe serves normal Shillong regulars along with beer & wine. Ambience is very nice. I tried their American Chopsuey Chicken. It had a good quantity & was tasty. However waiting 50 mins for a plate is just a bit too much. Update :- Chicken in Dry Bamboo Shoot Naga Thali- Rs.300 Amigos 147, Laitumkhrah, Shillong Chinese, Naga & Khasi $$$ 24.06.24 I saw recently @amigos147_ posting that they have started introducing Thalis both Khasi & Naga to the menu. And so I thought I would finish off a Naga Food Trilogy. I had Pork in Bamboo Shoot day before, Ang Oh Pongsen & Rusop yesterday & will end with a Chicken meal cooked Naga style today. I remember visiting it a year ago. The food was good but service was found wanting. Anyway the owner did clarify that his cook had left the same day. He assured me that things would be different on my next visit. Anyway I entered the basement where the restaurant - cum pool bar is located & took a seat. I've always liked how the place was set up. I reached out for the menu & asked for a Chicken in Dry Bamboo Shoot Naga Thali. The food arrived within 15mins. It took 15mins since the chutney was prepared fresh. Anyway my thali had a big bowl of good quality rice. A big serving bowl of 5 big pieces of Chicken cooked with dry bamboo shoot. A thin dal, boiled vegetables & the chutney. The rice was good but didn't have that Naga aroma to it. The boiled veggies were ok. The chutney had King Chilli, Garlic, roasted Tomatoes & salt & was spicy & lively. The dal was thin like a soup with less seasoning but it didn't matter as the oil in Chicken was very tasty. Infact the Chicken in bamboo shoot which had both dry & fresh bamboo shoot with Michinga or Schezwan pepper added to it defined the entire meal. The 5 pcs itself filled me up. It was very satisfying. 300 bucks felt worth it. The owner who is a chef was very much involved in the kitchen. Next time will surely try out the Khasi Thalis.
