I recently visited Aljo bakery that has been in business for over 35 years. While waiting for my order, I was shocked to see the owner pick up an egg puff with his bare hands after handling cash. When I asked him to use gloves, he just gave me a blank stare. It was clear he had no understanding of cross-contamination issues, which are a major concern in our area right now. To make matters worse, the egg puffs were squeezed into small bags, so by the time I got home, they had lost half their shape.
