Visited this place with friends after seeing a lot of hype on social media, so we came in with high expectations. We ordered parotta with a chicken curry (forgot the exact name from the menu), but sadly the food didn’t match the hype. The curry was served in a mud pot, and it felt too oily at first sight. The parotta wasn’t cooked well either—honestly, some small local restaurants make better ones. There was someone singing in the middle of the food court. Sometimes it’s okay, but other times it really affects the ambience, especially if you prefer a quieter dining experience. Parking is available and the washrooms are well-maintained, but overall, I wouldn’t really recommend this place based on our visit. We visited Al Saj Kitchen on a Sunday afternoon and had a great experience. We reached around 12:30 pm, and luckily, we got a parking spot inside the property as well as a nice table. Within just 10 minutes, the restaurant was completely full, so timing is important. If you’re planning to go for lunch, I recommend arriving by 12:30–1:00 pm to avoid being on the waiting list. They do have plenty of chairs outside for those waiting. While lunch service(main dish) officially started only at 1 pm, we ordered a veg meals for my wife and our cook, which came within 10 minutes. The veg meals were really good. So even if you are a vegetarian visiting a mostly non-veg restaurant, this place is still a solid option. By 1 pm, we received our main dish—Laham Mashwi (Beef Rib Mandi). The quantity was surprisingly large, easily enough for 3–4 people. Three of us ate and still had leftovers, which the staff happily packed for us. This was my first time trying Laham Mashwi. I’ve had different varieties of beef ribs and beef mandis before, but this one felt unique. The rib meat came off the bone effortlessly, it wasn’t too spicy, and the rice was simple but enjoyable. Definitely worth trying at least once. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and good food. We’re hoping to visit their Kumbalam branch soon. Thank you, Al Saj Kitchen! Tried the Neychor and Chicken Roast — both were super tasty, and the Neychor quantity was really good. Paalkappa with Beef Rib was also nice; the beef was perfectly cooked, soft, and tender, but the kappa wasn’t that great. Kalyana Choru was something different I tried — it came with rice and a variety of curries like BDF, beef curry, chicken roast, chicken curry, dal, pickles, raita, and more. Overall, the food was nice and the ambience was good too.
