Went looking for the best biriyani in kannur as some food vloggers say. But wasn't that great. We ordered chicken and mutton biryani. The piece size was very small for both mutton and chicken. 10/10 for the overall restaurant hygiene and service. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Price per person: ₹400–600

Visited Ajwa Restaurant, Thane, Kannur recently. The restaurant is set up in a converted house, so the ambience feels homely but quite average. This place is known mainly for its biriyani varieties, and that’s exactly what you’ll find on the menu. We tried the chicken biriyani, and it had a truly authentic Malabari taste — flavorful and delicious. Definitely a great choice for biriyani lovers! One small downside is that the toilet area is visible from the dining space, which can be a bit distracting. Also, the staff seemed quite cautious about photography and initially questioned the purpose of taking photos. They were fine once I explained that I’m a Google reviewer and write food reviews. Overall, a good spot if you’re in the heart of Kannur and craving some tasty biriyani.
