This restaurant and Gariahat Market can be both really attractive for tourists. If you like Korean cuisine, come to Ajumma's Kimbap. Google gives it 4.8 so you can select this place to spend a good time here.
First of all, congratulations to the owner for handling the place entirely by herself. It's not often that you stumble upon a cozy little Korean eatery in the many crazy gullies of Kolkata—and even if you do, you're unlikely to find such a charming young lady behind the counter. She made us feel welcome the moment we barged into her restaurant. The food was remarkable, and when you factor in the ambience, there’s really very little to complain about. I personally loved the kimbap and the love-potion known as Suspicious Lemonade (ask her for the secret recipe!). We also ordered spicy ramyeon, some cheesy rabokki, kimchi, and a chicken platter—all of which were absolutely delicious. But the real showstopper was the phenomenal Tiramisu ice cream. It would be a crime not to try that one. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, she surprised us with a little cup of strawberry ice cream—on the house. Seriously, I thought stuff like that only happened in movies!? 10/10. Totally recommended. I genuinely hope Ajumma’s Kimbap grows into a successful food chain with branches all over the city.
