Visited Ahilyadevi's Thali, at Katraj, last Sunday. I was itching to try the Maharaja Mutton Thali. I knew it was impossible for me to finish a whole thali by myself. Luckily, i had a friend with me who happily shared it with me. The thali consisted of: Vajdi Masala.. frikkin' delish. For those of you wondering what Vajdi is.. allow me to shock the jeebies outta you. Vajdi is intestine. Bheja Masala.. an absolutely yum prep. Kheema Ladoo.. these were lovely kebabs. Lamb Chop.. succulent, well marinated chop with quite enough meat on the bone. Lamb Kalwan.. very nicely done but i did not have too much of this as i was busy hogging on Vajdi & Bheja. Lamb Masala.. this was spicy kala masala mutton. Yum stuff! Lal & Pandhra Rassa..this was unlimited and both the rassas were bomb! Mutton Dum Biryani.. Not too oily or spicy. Quite good. Sol kadi.. terrible. Absolutely terrible! #SeedhiBaatNoBakwaas Jalebi.. they told us they were making it fresh and they did but they dunked it in cold syrup. Beda gark!! Kaisa kaun karta hai be? Still, because it was crisp, it wasnt too bad. Now coming to the service. This was peak Sunday lunch hours. There was one, JUST ONE server running around everywhere. ONE chap at the kitchen counter managing the KOTs and the food being sent out. We waited over 30 minutes for our thali (not the 15-20 minutes we were told), we waited for the tissues, we waited for the jalebis, and yes.. we waited for the bill. Sigh! Cleanliness: I can understand a restaurant wanting to give off a rustic feel. Truly, i do. But i do not comprehend dusty tables, dusty table mats, dusty chairs, wet slippery floors, water on those floors constantly being mopped to one side coz God knows what was leaking. The cutlery and thali, though, looked clean. I say it as i see it. Would i go back? Probably, but it would take me a year or two, or more to return here because of the bad service and dusty ambience. We paid 1259 inclusive of 5%GST. Yes, in spite of the delayed service i did leave a tip. Not the servers fault if the owner is too cheap to employ more staff. Ive given this place 3 stars and all 3 are for their stellar food. I felt the need to take away 1 star for the hygiene issue and 1 for the service issue. Worst Experience!
Quality of the food items included in Lamb Maharaja Thaali was pathetic.

The mutton rassa, mutton masala, lamb chop was not having authentic maharashtrian taste.

Also they have not maintained the quantity and quality of the mutton biryani and lamb maharaja thaali items included.

Even after complaining the chef, he was not ready to accept and said that they every day do the same preparation.

Also, after waiting for one hour we had to taste this worst food.

Please don't waste your money and try some another place.

Really worst taste!

The Sikandari Raan is excellent, generous portions and great prices. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommended it if you’re in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area.
