Indian cuisine is what this restaurant boasts. Do not leave without enjoying nicely cooked pilaf, chicken rogan josh and chicken skewers. To try tasty biscuits, fruitcake and macarons is a really nice idea. You will appreciate great tea or good latte at Ahdoos Restaurant.
It's easy to find this place due to the great location. The appealing staff welcomes visitors all year round. Prompt service is something that guests note in their comments. This review is a year late, but I needed to share my experience here. I wanted to try some authentic Kashmiri wazwan, but as a vegetarian did not think it was possible. However, this place does serve a plethora of lesser known Kashmiri (wazwan) dishes. I'm glad I had the experience, but the food wasn't to my liking at all. I don't know what I was expecting but the Aloo Bukhara (plum in a gravy) was too sweet for me and the Nadroo Yakni was nothing like the dish I enjoyed in Rajasthan, which I suppose was not the authentic version. I also had a not-so-great experience with the staff. I had left my phone to charge with them along with my international charger, and when I received it back at the end of my visit the waiter started discussing my visit to Gulmarg the day prior, meaning he had kept the phone unlocked and was rummaging through my photos. Would not return for this alone. My recommendation--skip this restaurant and try the adjacent Ahdoos Cafe. They have the most delicious chocolate walnut cookies I have ever had, and I think about them to this day. I wish I had bought more of their cookie varieties to try and gift. This is nestled on Residency Road in Srinagar, is a culinary landmark renowned for its authentic Kashmiri cuisine.Situated in the heart of Srinagar, Ahdoos offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that blends traditional Kashmiri aesthetics with modern comfort. The restaurant's location makes it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Ahdoos is celebrated for its rich array of traditional Kashmiri dishes. Signature offerings include Rogan Josh, Gustaba, Rista, and Tabak Maaz, all of which are integral components of the traditional Wazwan feast. The restaurant also serves popular dishes like Butter Chicken and Kashmiri pulao noted for their flavorful preparations. We had taken butter chicken and kashmiri polao. In the Wazwan Trami platter we choosen were rice, methi maz, tabak maz, kebab, rista, rogan josh, lahari kebab, kashmiri sak, nadru yakhni. Trami platter costing was 1250/-. This platter was not shareable. The prices were on the higher side. For dessert enthusiasts, the adjacent bakery, Ahdoos Crème, offers a delightful selection of cakes, cookies, and the famed walnut tarts. I must say the attentive and courteous staff, highlighting the efficient service that enhances the dining experience. A visit to Ahdoos Restaurant becomes mandatory when you're in Srinagar. Authentic Kashmiri cuisine served with elegance and pride. The ambiance is chic and the place has its own charm. We arrived on a late weekday evening and wanted to have some good grub. We had the Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Sheekh and Chicken Biryani. The starters were delectable, especially the Mutton Sheekh. It had an authentic taste of a regional special. The Biryani had light flavours and tasted just perfect. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The quantity served was also good. Would recommend Ahdoos to anyone wanting to try authentic local kashmiri food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Mutton Dishes, Chicken Biryani
