Always in search of cute cafes for evening coffee dates. One latest find is Aquacup Cafe on ECR. You can’t miss the teal and white board a couple of hundred meters past the Kovalam toll booth towards Mahabalipuram. On a Friday evening, it was still sunny and bright so we got to enjoy the vibrant colours of the small space. Loved the aesthetic, from the red sofa seats to the checkerboard tabletops and the walls covered in art and shelves stacked with knickknacks. The owner couple are very sweet as well. The most important part: the food! Had excellent jaggery milk coffee and lime juice to drink. Peri peri fries which were served super crisp and balanced on the spice. But the sandwiches were the best: aloo cheese and egg cheese, with complementing fillings. All of this cost us less than ₹500! The menu also features superb fresh juices and chicken sandwich. Open from 3pm to 10.30 pm, and they’re closed on Tuesdays.
