Unreliable and Unprofessional – Do Not Trust Verbal Confirmations I had booked the Private Dining Area at Villagio for a get-together of 25–30 people. The lady I spoke with clearly confirmed my booking over the phone. I even offered twice to pay an advance, but she confidently said, “You have a word, that’s enough” and assured me the space was reserved. Now, just 2 hours before the event, I’ve been informed that my booking has been cancelled and given to someone else who paid an advance—after I was told it wasn’t needed. This is not just disappointing—it’s completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I now have to arrange an alternate venue for 30 people at the last minute, which has caused me tremendous stress and chaos. For the record, I have call recordings of the conversation where the booking was confirmed and the advance was declined. This is a clear case of mismanagement and breach of trust. If you value your time, peace of mind, and guests' experience—do not rely on this place unless everything is in writing and paid in advance, because their “word” means nothing.
