Disappointing Experience at 1914 Dining Restaurant – Poor Value for Money and Lack of Menu Transparency I visited this restaurant with my mother and brother to give them their first 5-star dining experience, but unfortunately, it was a major letdown. For a 5-star establishment charging ₹2000+ per person, the experience was significantly inferior to standard buffet restaurants in cities like Bhubaneswar. The Food: The variety was extremely limited. There were only three non-veg and a few veg starters. In the non-veg section, only the chicken fry and steamed fish were palatable; the rest of the main courses were surprisingly bland. While the desserts (pineapple halwa and chocolate brownie) were good, they couldn't make up for the lackluster main course. Service and Transparency: The most disappointing part was the lack of transparency regarding the menu. The website showcases an extensive selection, including fresh seafood from Chilika, yet not a single seafood item was available on the buffet. When we asked the manager if we could order specific items from the online menu, we were flatly denied. What is the purpose of showcasing a premium menu online if 1/3 of the items are unavailable? Final Thoughts: This was meant to be a special first-time experience for my family, but it felt like a waste of money. A 5-star tag should come with 5-star variety and service, neither of which were present here. I would not recommend this buffet if you are looking for value or a true fine-dining experience. I visited on 28th December 2025, During 1 pm -3:30 pm lunch time.
