Yacoob Briyani in Chennai is a hidden gem for biryani lovers. The restaurant offers only mutton biryani for 230 rupees with 6 pieces of mutton and basmati rice. The taste of the biryani is similar to Muslim marriage biryani. The pieces of mutton are well cooked and the rice has just the right amount of salt. The price is also very pocket friendly, with a bill of 520 rupees for two people. The atmosphere is vintage and homely but the eating area may not be very clean. The salna gravy is very spicy. The restaurant also offers mutton kebab, mutton chops and chicken 65. It is highly recommended to get the food as take away to enjoy it peacefully at home.
I've been there twice, it's old vibes biryani place, can't stop wondering it's fame and rise, can't stop going also because of some hardcore ambience which i like to experience sometimes if the place has character and not just old. The meat was not like mutton for sure, While eating biryani was enjoyable but after that smell from pieces settle in mouth which indicates it's veal. Food: 3
You definitely you love mutton briyani here, which is priced at 200/- dine in. I got a good amount of mutton pieces(3-4) and it was well cooked & tasted super. The hotel looks old but brings a briyani vibe a lot. Definitely you will enjoy it here. Rice quantities are sufficient and the taste was less spicy. Recently, I went to this Yacoob Briyani, which is located in periyamedu. There is much hype on social media created by YouTube wanderers. Definitely, it is not a recommendable shop one. It is one of the worst shops ever I have had. From Atmosphere to Food quality, it's so worse. 260 Rupees for full briyani. 100 Rupees for Ghee Rice.
